Several test methods for petroleum casing

Petroleum casing is a high-end product made from steel pipes. There are many kinds of casing, with a total of 15 specifications in diameter, and the outer diameter range is 114.3-508 mm. Steel grade is divided into 11 types such as j55, k55, n80, l-80, p-110, c-90, c-95, t-95, etc. There are many types and requirements of casing connection, including stc, lc, bc , Vam and other thread are used for  processing thread. The production and installation process of oil casing involves a large number of tests, and several of them will be introduced below.

1.Ultrasonic testing

When the ultrasonic wave propagates in the tested material, the changes in the acoustic characteristics and internal structure of the material have a certain effect on the propagation of the ultrasonic wave. The detection of the ultrasonic wave is detected by the degree and conditions of the ultrasonic wave to understand the changes in the material properties and structure.

2.Ray detection

Oil casing manufacturers say that X-ray inspection uses different amounts of radiation to pass through normal parts and defects, resulting in differences in blackness on the film.

3. Magnetic particle detection

Surface and underground defects can be detected. Defect characteristics are easy to identify. Coatings and electroplated surfaces do not affect the detection sensitivity.

4. Penetration testing

The penetration test uses the capillary action of the liquid to penetrate the permeate into the open defects on the surface of the solid material, and then the permeate permeate is sucked out to the surface by the developer to show the existence of the defect.
