Main Types Of Cooling Bed For Seamless Tube Production Line

The main types of cooling bed of seamless tube production line are single chain cooling bed, double chain cooling bed, new chain cooling bed, step rack cooling bed and screw cooling bed.

1. Single chain cooling bed

Single chain cooling bed mostly adopts climbing structure. The cooling bed is composed of forward transport chain and fixed guide rail, and has a set of transmission system. The steel pipe is placed between two grabs of the forward transport chain, and the fixed guide rail bears the weight of the steel pipe body. The single chain cooling bed makes use of the thrust of the claw of the forward transport chain and the friction of the fixed guide rail to make the steel pipe rotate. At the same time, the steel pipe is always close to the claw of the forward transport chain by the self weight of the steel pipe and the lifting angle to realize the stable rotation of the steel pipe.

2. Double chain cooling bed

The double chain cooling bed is composed of forward transport chain and reverse transport chain, each of which has a set of transmission system. The steel pipe is placed between two grabs of the forward transport chain, and the reverse chain bears the weight of the steel pipe body. The double chain cooling bed makes the steel pipe move forward by the thrust of the claw of the forward transport chain, and makes the steel pipe produce continuous rotation motion by the friction of the reverse chain. The movement of the reverse chain makes the steel pipe always lean on the claw of the forward transport chain, realizing stable rotation and uniform cooling.

3. New chain cooling bed

Combined with the characteristics of single chain cooling bed and double chain cooling bed, the cooling bed is divided into uphill section and downhill section. The uphill section is a double chain structure composed of forward transport chain and reverse transport chain. The positive and negative actions together make the steel pipe rotate continuously and move forward to make uphill movement. The downhill section is a single chain structure arranged in parallel with the forward transport chain and the steel tube guide rail, which rotates and makes landslide movement depending on the self weight.

4. Step rack type cooling bed

The bed surface of step rack cooling bed is composed of two groups of racks, one is assembled on the fixed beam, which is called static rack, the other is assembled on the moving beam, which is called dynamic rack.

When the lifting mechanism acts, the moving rack will lift the steel pipe. Due to the inclination angle, the steel pipe will roll along the tooth shape once when it is lifted. After the moving gear rises to the highest position, the step mechanism moves the moving rack forward one step to the output direction of the cooling bed. The lifting mechanism continues to move to drive the moving rack down and put the steel pipe into the fixed rack slot. The steel pipe rolls again along the tooth shape of the fixed rack, and then the moving rack returns to the initial position to complete a working cycle.

5. Screw cooling bed

Screw type cooling consists of main transmission device, screw and fixed cooling stand. Screw includes screw rod core and screw helix. The working surface of the fixed cooling bench is higher than the screw rod core and lower than the helix, and the weight of the steel pipe body is borne by the fixed cooling bench. The main transmission device drives the screw to rotate synchronously, and the spiral line on the screw pushes the steel pipe to roll forward on the fixed cooling bench for cooling.

Single chain cooling bed is not suitable for discontinuous operation, double chain cooling bed has good effect, new chain cooling bed has good effect and low cost, step rack cooling bed is generally used in large or high configuration production lines, screw cooling bed is generally used to cool seamless pipes with small diameter.
